About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and successful Public Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement Specialist who will work on a major highway infrastructure reconstruction project in the greater Atlanta area. This position will support and assist the Public Information Officer for P3/Design Build projects and assist in developing public information communications consulting services for standard delivery and/or local government transportation Engineering Design projects.
This is a long term, full-time, onsite, position located in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities
- Assists with developing content of public information collateral including fact sheets, FAQ's, website, newsletter, etc. verifying that all is within P3 Division Style Guide and expectations.
- Attends external meetings and gives support to Stakeholder Outreach meetings verifying that Developer's Public Information Coordinator provides all materials needed (Power Point Presentations, Handouts, talking Points, etc.) for such events.
- Attends public open houses, stakeholder outreach meetings, groundbreaking, ribbon cuttings, and any other public community project events as a representative of our client's public information team.
- Assists the Public Information Officer (PIO) to verify compliance that the Developer's Public Information Coordinator produces and follows the public information communication plan, fulfills scope obligations as defined in the documents, and accuracy and quality of the materials provided prior to distribution.
- Assists the PIO in overseeing the Developer's public communications Submittals through the PMCS.
- Verifies accuracy of Traffic Impact Alerts and receives approvals from GDOT.
- Attends PMT internal meetings and provide any Public Involvement activity that is upcoming, recap events / meetings that have taken place, and receive direction and approvals on PICP Submittals through internal weekly meetings.
- Attends internal Public Involvement Task Force Meetings, Progressing Meetings, meets with PMC to discuss any outstanding items she/he has or needs clarification on.
- Assists PIO to proactively provide timely information to Developer's Public Information Coordinator and PMT PM/dPM when requested.
- Assists in verifying that the Public Information and Communication Monthly Report is submitted, and the information presented is accurate.
- Assists with the implementation and compliance of the P3 Division Style Guide.
Skills and Attributes
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate, collaborate, and relate information to decision makers, internal, and external customers.
- Utilizes considerable latitude for independent judgment and action within established guidelines.
- Utilizes both quantitative and qualitative analysis skills in the execution of duties/responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration, Business Management, Journalism, Communications, Finance, Accounting, or related field or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years direct experience working with owners, professional design and construction firms in public outreach on large developments or large DOT projects.
- Collaborative experience with diverse teams in post-contract award phase providing project/program oversight for public outreach and/or stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in hosting large virtual meetings in MS Office, Zoom or other software.
- Excellent utilization with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $50-60/hr. It is not common for starting salaries to come in at the very top of the range; they usually fall somewhere in the middle. The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate's level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
