The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Under the general supervision of the Director of Public Information in the Bureau of External Affairs of the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, the position is responsible for assisting in planning and executing all communication efforts for the Office’s “Protecting New Yorkers from Tech Abuse, Deep Fakes, and Sextortion” project in coordination with the Assistant Director for Technology Safety Initiatives, in addition to other agency projects. The position will include development of public awareness campaigns, publications, social media, and website management, with an emphasis on creating graphic content.Duties may include but are not limited to: • Support all communications needs of the agency including monitoring news sources for related content, drafting, editing, and disseminating written materials, press releases, public awareness campaigns, and publications.• Assist in the content development of the agency’s communications strategy including the development and curation of online content for websites, print and electronic publications and related digital platforms, and digital and social media.• Proofread, rewrite, and edit documents submitted by others for style, content, and conformity to agency standards and policy.• Assist in the response to media inquiries regarding agency’s initiatives, programs, and services.• Capture and analyze social and digital media metrics and assist in addressing issues.• Oversight of all agency products as they pertain to branding guidelines and professional and standardized design.• Coordinate public appearances for agency staff to explain programs and initiatives to gain stakeholder support for agency activities.• Assist supervisor in planning, executing, and evaluating projects.• Assist in the design or arranges for the design, set up, staffing and operations of displays and exhibits.• Provide assistance and advice on community outreach and public participation and advises agency staff on matters regarding public presentations and media relations.• Maintain schedule of agency events and notify the news media.• Perform other duties as assigned.
