MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Typically has Bachelor's degree in communication, education, public relations, business
administration or a related field. At least two years of experience in related work of increasing
responsibility.
Licenses: Valid Florida driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to translate technical or
complex subjects for general audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain credible and effective
working relationships with co-workers, management, public officials, other governmental
entities, community leaders, news media and the public.
Knowledge and skills in creative desktop publishing, production and editing; knowledge
and skills in of photography and photo editing
Working knowledge of current social media tools, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube,
Constant Contact, electronic publications, basic HTML and web-related programs.
Comfortable with public speaking and presentations.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize personal computer and office software such as
Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Organized with attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
Walking, standing, sitting and bending
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Works inside in an office environment
Occasional field work with exposure to various weather conditions
SALARY RANGE: $22.50 - $29.50/Hour ($46,800 - $61,360/Year)
